Invalid Security Certificate error on some Keele sites Tuesday 19th January 2021 09:00:00


Information & Digital Services (IDS) has been made aware of an issue which is affecting various websites run by the University.

The issue is causing some websites to fail to load on certain browsers. This is due to a security certificate which enables access to the site being withdrawn by the provider.

IDS are working to establish which sites are affected by this and to implement a new certificate to resume access.

If you see an error message, please try again later as we are working to resolve the issue asap.

This issue is known to be affecting those using Google Chrome, but may also become an issue on other internet browsers – eg. Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge – as they update.

IDS apologises for any inconvenience this is causing and wants to reassure colleagues that we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We have now resolved this issue by reassigning security certificates where necessary. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you continue to have issues accessing any systems or services.
