IT VPN Maintenance

On Friday 7 May, the IT VPN, used by IT staff, will be unavailable in the afternoon while IDS investigates options for adding two-factor authentication to the VPN to improve security.

If IT staff need to use the VPN at this time, please connect to and select the IT profile.

To prepare for this work, the IT VPN will be unavailable for a short period from 7pm on Thursday 29 April. If you are connected during this time, your connection will be interrupted.

EBSCO eBooks system upgrade

Between Friday 5 May and Friday 12 May, EBSCO eBooks will be completing a system upgrade which will affect users of this eBook service.

During this time, EBSCO users will be unable to download full eBooks to read offline from EBSCOhost but will be able to read eBooks online and download eBook chapters. Any eBooks which have been previously downloaded will also remain available.

EBSCO Mobile App users will also be unable to download full eBooks to read offline, but they will be able to like eBooks to download later, and any eBooks already downloaded will continue to be available in the app.

Library Search maintenace

Library Search will be unavailable between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday 8 May, whilst ExLibris, the system provider, carries out maintenance work.

Microsoft O365 Microsoft Teams

Microsoft are aware of issues accessing Microsoft Teams & Audio/Video calls. Users able to access Microsoft Teams may experience degraded performance with multiple features.

We'll update on the situation shortly.

  • Update 13:27 - Microsoft have reported that they have completed work to resolve these issues and users should now start seeing a return of service.

  • Update 13:05 - Microsoft have confirmed these issues are affecting users globally and they are working to resolve the issues. Keele users are having intermittent issues with accessing calls, using chat/comments, and with call quality.

    eVision/SCIMS Intermittent issues with Remote Apps

    We are currently investigating issues some users are experiencing with Remote Apps, including the SCIMS client. Our team are looking into this and will work to resolve issues asap.

  • Update 11:47 - We believe these issues are now resolved. If you continue to have issues accessing any remote apps, including the SCIMS client, please get in touch with the IT Service Desk.
